The 2005 Ford Mustang car rental is all redesigned with styling inspired by the original 1960s versions of America's Ponycar. The chrome ringed air vents are aligned across the dashboard with the large, barrel-styled engine gauges.

Exterior Looks

The redesigned 2005 Ford Mustang GT Convertible and Coupe cars have captured the classic fastback profile with a shark like front hood and rear spoiler, but are built with a fully modernized architecture based on safety and street-smart swagger. The Mustang GT wheelbase has grown 6 inches since it was last redesigned in 1999, but don't worry, the Mustang's signature long hood and short deck remain unchanged.

Styling touches reminiscent of the past include the C-shaped scoops on the sides and the tri-bar tail lamps. You can also welcome back the "galloping horse" emblem in the centre of the old school-style forward-leaning grill. The GTs wheelbase is 107.1 inches wide and 187.6 inches long, standing 54.5 inches high.

Mechanical Information and the Engine

The new 2005 Mustang GT Convertible and Coupe has a suspension that consists of MacPherson struts in the front and a Panhard rod at the rear with a three-link live axle. One option is the 4.0 litre V6 engine that produces 202 horsepower.

The second option is an all-aluminum 4.6 litre V8, which pumps out 315 pounds per foot of torque and 300 horsepower. The Mustang GT Convertible and Coupe come equipped with a standard five-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic. In layman's terms… the Pony knows how to run!

Safety

Ford has included some new safety options on the redesigned 2005 Mustang including front side airbags that cover both the torso and the head. As always the Mustang offers four-wheel disc brakes, along with ABS brakes and traction control standard to the GT model.
