Autumn in Pennsylvania - Must See Fall Foliage Destinations
Pennsylvania is one of those places that you just have not experienced, until you have seen it in the fall. Autumn in Pennsylvania is full of colors that are amazing and will astound almost anyone. The state is filled with gorgeous places to view the fall foliage in all its wonderful glory. Once you have rented a car from Champion Exotic Car Rentals pack up your bags and head to one of these magnificent destinations, where you will see all the blazing colors of red, browns, oranges, and yellows.

Pennsylvania Grand Canyon
The Pine Creek Gorge is known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and is almost 50 miles long and 1,450 feet deep. You'll see spectacular panoramas, abundant wildlife and beautiful hardwoods that promise a brilliant fall display of beautiful foliage in deep reds, yellows and purples in early October. The park is an excellent place to camp, hike, or picnic. Take a hike on the Turkey Path Trail, where if you descend one mile to the bottom of Pine Creek Gorge you come to a scenic waterfall about 3/4 mile down. Be sure to stop in the quaint town of Wellsboro where you'll see gas-lit streets and Victorian mansions dating back to the early 1800's.
Take the scenic route and drive along Route 660 West from Wellsboro to Leonard Harrison State Park. Follow Route 660 East to 362 West to Route 6 East back to Wellsboro.
Allegheny National Forest
The Allegheny National Forest is lined by historic towns that thrived at the height of the lumber industry, and provides the perfect getaway or a great place for a Saturday drive. The expansive woodlands covers over 500,000 acres, and is ideal for those that love to watch the leaves of the trees as they begin to change color. Within the Allegheny National Forest State parks there is Kinzua Bridge State Park, which is the home of the Kinzua Bridge, an 1882 viaduct that was the longest and highest railroad bridge of its time. Kinzua is also the most popular location to view the fall foliage, of which the best time is the firsts two weeks of October.
There are recreational areas throughout the Forest that are excellent for pitching a tent, fishing, boating and other water activities. At the Allegheny Reservoir, you can take photographs from spectacular overlooks of wooded hillsides and the Kinzua Viaduct.
Delaware Water Gap
The Delaware Water Gap is a great place to escape from the busy city and surround yourself with natural beauty. The Delaware Water Gap covers the 40 miles in the middle of the Delaware River and almost 70,000 acres of land along the river's shores. The area has 12 hiking trails that wind through over 65 species of deciduous and evergreen trees, which in the fall, creates a beautiful afternoon walk or hike. You will find many breathtaking look out points along the river, where you will see the beautiful fall foliage, as well as such animals as bald eagles and white-tailed deer.
Driving through the park will unveil waterfalls, rural scenery, and the historic Millbrook Village. You can also canoe, hike, camp, swim, picnic, bicycle, cross country ski, and horseback ride. Fishing and hunting are also permitted in season with state licenses.
State College
There is so much to see in State College in the fall. Here you will find businesses, unique shops small cafes, bookstores, restaurants, and nightclubs, as well as Penn State University. For those that just want to take in the beautiful scenic nature, you can take a walk through any of the six state parks and absorb the fantastic fall foliage. At the Mt Nittany Inn you will find a breathtaking view that goes on and on.
